Kentucky Logging Bridge Locations

Overview KY Logging Bridge

The Kentucky Logging Bridge Program is a state-supported initiative designed to help loggers reduce the environmental impact of crossing streams during timber harvests. The program provides affordable, reusable temporary wooden bridges that prevent sediment from entering waterways, protecting water quality and aquatic habitats. Through a rent-to-own model, bridges are made accessible to small and family-owned operations. The program also includes training and outreach to educate loggers, landowners, and industry partners on proper bridge use and best management practices for stream protection. Led by the University of Kentucky’s Department of Forestry and Natural Resources, the program promotes sustainable logging while supporting economic development in rural communities.
